Average walking distance per day/week?

Has anyone else actually worked out how many miles they eat up on the average working day or week? Mine averages about 10 miles a day, which eqates to roughly...

...the equivalent of...

Manchester to Derby in the average week

Manchester to London in the average month

London to JERUSALEM in the average year

...and my dog wonders why I'm less than enthusiastic to take him "walkies" when i get home from work!

Mine is about 19,000 - 22,000 steps per day which at 50cm a stride comes in somewhere between 9.5-11 km.

Which would be great on the flat but not so great up and down sodding hills

My pedometer clocked me at around 8 miles a day but thats deffo 10 or 11 with overtime. Depends on the round of course and I reckon additonal pratting about on a new walk adds a bit ,,,,I struggled to lose weight for years now im disappearing !!! Should be on the NHS this job !!

And the Joe public have the cheek to call us "lazy"! Are these the same people who walk the 5 yards to thier CAR every morning, DRIVE to work to sit on a computer all day and DRIVE home.

I should point out that the 10 miles includes dog walking duty, I typically walk 2-2.5 miles a day over 3 "walkies". I always tell myself i wont do it when i get home after a crap day...i only ever hold out for about 30 minutes...damn puppy dog eyes!

I recently use a Nokia sports tracker, from entering my office to last letter 15 miles.

Usually 20-22km per day but that's only from my first step in delivery and not from when I start.

I walk 12 miles a day. To and from work, in the office, out to delivery and delivery. 60 miles a week. Luckily our boots last well.
