Dress code ?
Looking round my office today . 40 odd posties . Doesn,t anyone have a sense of pride in the job anymore ? Some wear the uniform. But others look like they on holiday! Red polo, camouflage shorts or bermudas ! Trainers !
They walk down the street and the only reason the public see them as a postie is because they carrying a red bag !
Otherwise you would not know?
I am speaking as an ex army guy . Smart and tidy every day.
We are after all ROYAL mail.
But some off you need a full length mirror to see what you like before you go to work?
Suppose will get the usual daft cartoons on here now?
But look at yourselves ? Have some pride at least ?

won't matter when we're all wearing TNT orange but yes, I agree. Have some pride boys and girls, before you know it we'll be wearing bloody Engerland shirts

Maybe they shouldn't issue us with the cheapest, crappiest uniforms they can get - all done just so that some manager can get a bonus.

I had a look at my trousers today (that I only got a few months ago) and they are seriously faded on the front and back, they do make me look like a tramp (not to mention the different shades of blue my shirt gets ).

I wear whats comfortable, sometimes blue tracky bottoms, and always wear my Nikes, black of course.

Used to wear a thick camouflage coat in the winter, RM jackets are just nay good in the bitter cold.

Some of them in my office do look like tramps, looks/smells like they've slept in their uniforms. The quality of the uniform is crap now, I don't know how they can be saving money when they are having to issue uniform all the time because of poor quality. I went to Asda yesterday and got myself a pair of navy cargo shorts for £8 and I bet they will outlast RM issue ones. I did have a new pair of CATs issued to me last week, left them on my frame and someone nicked them so will stick with my Asics for the time being.

Well according to our new `advisors` for the Park and Loop fiasco,everybody will have to wear the new improved uniform as it's elf and safety and that all of the office is going to be issued with it within the next 13 weeks. Which is surprising as half the office has been waiting for new uniform like boots since January.
After the new super duper improved tried and tested uniform is in anybody who wears their own stuff will be conduct coded.

A few tramps at my place especialy one,i had to keep telling him to order some new trousers as he looked a state and i mean a real state.
He eventually done it,wore them without ironing them and has not washed them in 3 weeks!!

That is one of the reason that Royal mail goon down hill,i can remember we HAD to wear a tie till summer and only summer I still do one of the last i think

I'm there to work not a fashion show.

I make sure i get it out the dryer sharpish before it creases badly.

Dont be daft, its nothing to do with the uniform, its the top brass decision makers that have wrecked this company.

I still wear a clip-on tie I was issued with just before ties were outlawed.

Just on the odd occasion, usually following a heavy ale night, it lightens my mood somewhat.
