Part Time To Full Time

Post by seasidebilly »

I was employed on a permanent part time contract. 2 years and 2 months ago i was put up to 40 hours and listed as part time to full time.
I remember at the time being told that after 2 years i would be considered full time.I've done the 2 years without being dropped down from 40 hours at any time.
Should i ask for confirmation of this and a written full time contract or have i been given more duff information.
Many thanks

Ask for a full time contract, are they paying you full time hours when you go on annual leave?

I think it's something along the lines of ... if you are kept on full time for 3 months after your contract ends then you can claim permanent full time.
i.e. if you have a 12 month full time contract then after 15 months you can claim permanent full time if they did not renew the contract but kept you full time anyway.

Or something like that. It may well not apply anymore.

Might be best to find out a bit more of what spedley is saying from the union, NOT management, and then if it's feasable, keep your mouth shut until the time has run out if there is a time limit then bingo, you're in.

I have heard something along the lines of what he's mentioned.
