Advice please

My other half has just had our 2nd baby,Without going into detail the birth was horrendous,She gave birth on tuesday and will be home today maybe tomorrow but with a kafata fitted,She can hardly walk and had god knows how many stitches also.
Im due back in work on thurs,day off fri,and back in sat,Im going in later to see about getting the thurs and sat off as holidays,How do i go about getting more time off if i need it? I cant leave her at home alone with 2 kids to sort out being in such a fragile state,If they refuse the holidays what do i do? Im not sure if i go off sick i will trigger a warning,So want to leave that route.

Just stay at home with your wife, she needs you.

you can take your paternity when it suits you, so just tell them you will not be in.

Like my situation it's not your problem, stay at home take care of your wife and new baby.
