inserting door 2 door into each other then prepping into rm 2000 (or just not prepping and just carry a handfull at a time) could someone end this argument is it a conduct issue or not as most staff are doing this (the ones that use cars and managers)
cos the way i see it this could kill this (d2d into work load) if it carrys on even reps wont answer this 1

I have no idea if its a conduct issue but there certainly have been complaints in most elections about election material being placed into normal D2Ds and RM saying its not allowed.

I think it could be a conduct issue but I doubt until someone is conducted that you will get a definite answer.

looks like we need cwu hq need to answer this then i thought this was a big no as the company pays for the item to be posted as a single item
so they are not getting what they pay for so thats false advertisement of the product royal mail are selling

I think it pre-dates the D2D into workload issue and is part of the original D2D agreement.

I would imagine while it's an interim arrangement managers will turn a blind eye but after a revision that may change.
The idea is to drive up the quality of the D2D product and both of these practices go against that.
Taking them out in bundles slows you down on delivery and RM will not have that.

D2D are not to be inserted inside one another - period, yes, this is a conduct issue, especially if you have been told once & continue doing it.

In our area, the local council newspaper was delivered during the elections, some muppets continued to place election material inside
after being briefed not to, guess what - a couple of people phoned the council asking if they were supporting a certain party - big no no,
council kicked off big time about impartiality - now have numerous conduct cases ongoing

Manager just lets us get on with it. Who gives a toss how they get done as long as you do your 16% per day.

Very few reps will answer contentious issues, they either get stonewalled or receive no answer themselves.

I have asked to help with local rep issues, they do not want me, I wonder why?

There are clear guidelines for my area.
e.g. For 3 d2d contracts

Prep all letters and flats first, no exceptions. Put a pile of each d2d on frame. Take 1 d2d from each pile, put back to back not folded together and prep into frame for the agreed 1/6th delivery points for that day. Deliver all mail in frame including d2d`s even if you have to "cold call" with d2d`s. They are to be treated as live mail.

I went to a meeting today about the new ways of working & Geo2008 ect and D2D was mentioned,
This question was asked about preping them and in no uncertain terms we ( meaning about 30-35 managers and any Reps or members who came with thier managers )
were told by the DSM that you had do do 1/6 a day as the frame went, and that they must not be put inside each other, we were also told we would have to cold call any addresses that we didn't have mail for.
We were given a booklet explaning this signed off by the local Rep and the local DSM. When Managers tried to get round this the DSM said it's agreeded with the Area Rep and me now get on with it.
He also said that anyone who didn't follow this should be warned and if they still didn't follow it, then they must be conduct coded end of, and that any Manager who didn't follow it would be putting his own job on the line.

The Rep was argueing with the other managers about it and explained that its all about workload and if we had to cold call and didn't have time to lapse they don't lapse, then they looked at the DSM and he agreed with the Rep
which in all honesty i think throw them a little.

So maybe RM are really up for it, or maybe their saying one thing at meetings and another when they talk to managers alone.We will just have to wait and see i suppose.
