do you / cwu have numbers for how many people are suspended (long term with pay),if so what are your thoughts on the pressure that these colleagues are experiencing,i know as i am one over 11 months for me now,iv heard horror storys of posties losing their houses/relationships etc once they get paid off,the problem arises when you have no pay for upto 90 days awaiting the appeal.

my main point is that union hq should be taking rm to task on this,how long b4 one of our brothers commit sucicide(sp) god forbid,where is the unions duty of care.

despite all the evidence i have of my innocence r/m are still ignoring the facts i put forward,what is the world of trade unionism coming too when hq are allowing this to happen?

whatever happened to 1 for 1 and all for 1..............me thinks there are some people involved in this union that wouldnt know about the basic union principles.

mark my words its a matter of time before we THE UNION lose a member through this tactic r/m are using.not everyone will manage to come out the other end..............i am talking about union members getting treated like pond life and having their jobs/relationships etc hanging by a thread

Hang in there. Seems unbelievable that after all this time neither the Union or RM have cleared up the situation, and they both have a duty of care towards both your mental and physical well being. 11 months seem far too long to keep you hanging in the balance, but the saving grace is that at least you are still on full pay. you could of course go down some other routes and force the issue, from getting ACAS involved if you haven't already done so, or involve an outside agency such as the CAB

cheers stoksey,but the problem is ,i cant get an outside person involved untill i have went through all r/m procedures,i have onlyrecently returned my conduct interview notes which by the way went on for 7hrs 15mins spread over two days..............foooking unbelievable considering the evidence i have stacked in my favour

I feel some of the outside agencies could at least give you some advice, to help you move things along. again, for you to be left in limbo for so long, is not right.And sometimes a second pair of eyes can help, along with the moral support, which you seem to need badly. will do mate,iv had to wait this long so they aren't defeating me without me fighting all the way,the worst thing about it is r/m have not got a snowballs chance in hell if this ends up in court...........ps i have had an appointment with the top employement solicitor in my area and he cant believe the evidence iv got is not been looked at by r/m

Have you tried asking a more senior Rep to get involved?
Perhaps the Rep who's currently handling your case, isn't up to the job. A more senior Rep should have more experience, and stand a better chance of getting this sorted within a sensible timescale. It's ludicrous that you've been stuck on suspension for so long! If I were you, I'd phone your Branch, and make enquiries.

It is very unusal but not unknown for individuals to be suspended whilst investigations are under way for that length of time.

Without knowing what the alledged reasons are for your suspension it is hard to make any comment.

Have you been charged and disciplined and now are awaiting the outcome of an appeal , or are royal mail simply dragging their heals on the investgation ?

What ever the reason you should contact your area rep who should be able to assist., if not get in touch with your divisional rep or regional secretary

However some cases do last a long time as obviously the Burslem cases have.

iv only had my f/finding(waited 3months)and conduct interview about 5 weeks ago,area rep is dealing with my case from day1,i produced a huge amount of evidence at the last interview,the manager carried on regardless

i would doubt that andy as when i produced the evidence the manager wasnt interested,also have about 11 witnesses who havent been interviewed by r/m,scary when r/m can just make up charges and when you have evidence in black and white that managers are telling lies,the investigating manager has sent out a clear signal of intent..................personally if i had been the union rep,i would have asked for a recess and then produced all the evidence for the manager and then asked to reconvene at a later date,but hey wot do i know

just keep gettn told that r/m have broken guide lines andy and that it will all count for me in the end.......several managers have taken the case on and dropped it like a hot potatoe.which to me tells a huge story
