royal mail could'nt give a jot what people think as long as they are getting paid by senders they dont bother.
i've lost count of the amount of times customers say that to me. one customer has her recycling bin under her letterbox all ready and waiting i do wonder what would happen if we carried info on us directing people to the RM website where you can opt out? now there's a thought, what if i did my own d2d with one page leaflet detailing the link - how many people would actually bother?

previous post is right they would look to get rid of you.
youd have to deliver them on a Sunday no uniform so clearly in your own time.
Then deny all knowledge (for good measure)
Its still a big can of worms.
In answer to the thread title . No!
Most of my customers are still unaware of the change.
I think when five/six pieces hit the doormat on a regular basis there will be public outcry.

I think there will more likely be public apathy.
Most of the time people on the doorstep are just looking for a conversation and junk mail is an easy target.
How many times have you heard "At least it's dry today" or "no bills please" or the hundred other things people say to pass the day.
People get loads of sh*t through their doors already and i don't see any torches and pitchforks.
As long as the bills are paid and Corrie is on the telly most of the public really coudn't give a sh*t and why should they.
There are a lot more important things in life than a dominoes menu.
I agree. People whinge for the sake of whingeing not because they actually care.
If people really were upset they would opt out.
Even that won't stop the other 6/7 leaflets that other people stuff through their door.
And nobody would deliver D2D if people stopped responding to it.
While the advertisers still get a satisfactory response it will continue.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
I don't envisage a pitchfork parade to the C.E.O's Mansion !
Deserved as it will probably be.
More like Mrs Angry of Purley writing a letter to the Daily Express.

Well said i think you hit the bullseye
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
The only things I've seen get the public riled are those scam charity bags (You know the ones - Cancer research ... in the Eastern Block, every £10,000 worth of cloths and they give their own country £100 as a charitable donation)
About 10 doors per walk have 'No Charity Bags' written on them which is far more than D2D optouts.
Now you have really hit the nail on the head here, those "charity" bags are really really annoying. They must think that people in my area do nothing but throw away clothes, as we usually get around ten different"charity" bags a week, I got three today alone!

What if a postman in every delivery office secretly pay for advertising board telling about how to opt out for Doors to Doors in middle of town centre in every town and village and city.

Royal Mail would be in trouble.
And so would WE
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
