sorting how many staff

how many do you have on the sorting to the amount of walk in you office today we had 5 on out of 34 walk was a joke
we got sorting machines but all they do is the walk sorted bundles we used to get from mail sent but we just get them later now waste of time if you ask me.

yep we got more part time now than any think so not many left to sort the mail

Not enough! This is one of my main headaches in the job. Its always the same 4-5 people left to do it day in, day out.

this get me annoyed to we are on the sorting at 0600 the part timers come in at 0700 we come off the sorting at 0800 part timers are leaving the office 0900 the full time staff are still prepping up we might not all start at the same time but we are supposed to finish at the time the part time staff should participate on the primary when they come in as there walks have been getting thrown in by the full time staff who are not on the primary from 0600 till 0700 when they come in

so just to be sure i understand your office, all your part timers are on 35 hours contracts? you say "we are on the sorting at 0700 and the part timers come in at 0700" thats an hour less work to do in the day as you also say "we are supposed to finish at the time the part time staff" which i think you mean is everyone is scheduled to finish at the same time? if not and the part timers are on a 30 hour contract they should all finish an hour before the full timers do

We have 6 sorters for a staff of about 70. I am part time (34) hrs and sort untill it is finished as my walk has 380 delivery points with some very long drives. Most of the the full time staff are finished alot earlier than me

About 8 to 10 of us out of an office of 90 or so. Very few part timers start early enough to do any sorting now. The ILSMs are not getting the mail done in time for us most days. Usually people get boxes only minutes before are due to go for a break so they don't manage to throw everything off before break time.

3 on letters 3 on flats 1 or 2 on the packets at any given time.

If the PTers dont get on at their start time of 8.15, 7.45 or 6.40 on a saturday, off we go. Soon gets the gaffer out to chase them up.
