lets hypothetically say that i am on a different walk each day of the week, is it realistic for me to claim overtime pay of 0.5-1 hour daily for the extra time it took me to figure out the in and outs of that route?

Yes.

They can put it down as training and it doesn't effect the budget.Even a time served postie is going to take a bit longer if he/she doesn't know where they are going.

Great thread just what im looking for..have been moved to a new DO and put on a new walk..ive never prepped,redirected,cut off etc etc...was all done for me in previous DO..

OK so thing is my hours have been made up from 26 to 30 as its a large walk ( so 4 hours every weeks paid as overtime) but I was told as I was new to the prepping I could claim more overtime..1st week was ok got most of the the overtime 6h.45mins ( 45mis shaved off !) just had 2nd week wages and 5 hours have been shaved off the 7 that I actually put in for..I appreciate that I will get faster at prepping but not in 2 weeks plus it has been really heavy last couple of weeks...im quite peed off with how Ive been treated..any suggestions would be really helpful

guess this is another Royal Mail shady area..no one seems to have any answers..does anyone that works for royal mail stand up for their rights or are you all that beaten and down trodden.... seems no one has any rights ..even the union have gone belly up so no point asking them for help either..really have no idea what to do now..what a firm lol

Witholding wages is AGAINST THE LAW!!

Ask why you have not been paid your overtime, inform them you will not do anymore overtime unless paid in full what they owe you, talk to a rep straight away (area, if no local).

Yes.

Sorry it does effect the budget-gross hours total, what should be the answer is - due to traffic decline, the DOM will get someone else more
experienced on that walk to assist you with prep

Thanks guys..why is nothing ever easy with this firm ... im sick off having to battle for everything...sick being the right word to describe how i felt when i saw my wage slip..the job is stressful enough without all this extra shite..will have a chat with Dim on saturday if no joy i will try and get hold of area rep..would it also be worth asking for a grievance form ?
