Heard recently that the Post Office collections, usually paid Scheduled Attendance, will disappear with this deal.

They will now be incorporated into the working day of the local D.O.

So its possible a duty may do a few hours delivery, then do the local box/P.O collections.

More money lost for peeps.

The possible introduction of hybrid duties is in the agreement.
As a delivery postman with very little opportunity for o/t I am gobsmacked by the amount of o/t available to drivers.

They are called Hybrids,usually 1100-1900
4hr delivery until 1500 40mins meal relief 3hrs 20mins collection.
It's the future.

Except it doesn't work because you keep having to cut off if you have a timed collection.

unless of course they are one of the rural drivers that grabbed a 4 day week 10 hour day

then it is in at 9 prep and out at 11 do rural and then a break then onto a collection finishing at 7

that is one hell of a day

and before anyone says it won't happen

do you think the last letter at 4pm for rurals was put there by accident??

Crt revsions on collections will take hours away from collections. so it maybe the case to mantain full time duties as the noon collections will shrink. Rm have decide that if a box has less than one hundred items in or may oveflow then they will only go once for the USO.I f your collections have loads of spare time the revsion will cut collection waves. So when it comes to duties jobs come before sa/overtime so yes some of the Sa could go

Well there is a very good reason to seriously consider getting these hybrid duties accepted imho. Consider that SA is not a given and can be withdrawn but duties and most likely full time duties once agreed are much more difficult to change. That is not to say that SA should cease but perhaps some of the hours could be transferred to indoor duties in the callers, mech, ips - just a thought really.
