100% Call Rate
The walks have to be worked out at 100% call rate as we will be expected to deliver D2Ds as requested in with delivery on any day including saturday.
In my office my boss is counting the gaps in the fittings to work out %.
If we have to deliver D2Ds in this way it would meen that on a walk which has 750 calls and 80% call rate banded on it on a day where we deliver requested delivery D2Ds we would have to bring back 150 calls which is destined to fail.
WE NEED A NATIONAL AGREEMENT.
Not an agreement to agree localy!

Re: 100% Call Rate
I not aware of anything in the proposals that says call rate will be agreed locally
Call rate in relation to DTD is still being worked out by HQ, there are no proposals for local call rates. I dont think there is an intention of basing deliveries on 100% of DTD a day. 16.66% day will be the criteria used for call rate in relation to DTD.
The proposals are clear we can deliver DTD how we like during the week (Monday to Saturday) so long as the service is not disrupted.

Re: 100% Call Rate
But this where it falls down. Its ok having all week for D2D, but what about the time specific ones. How many days will we get these? All based on a 80% hit rate no doubt. We all know how much longer it takes to cover every house, yet management say the time taken is miniscule. All ready had mgmt counting houses that we actually deliver to. Of course not all mail counts as a delivery. Recently had Dominos pizza (not d2d) for virtually every house, yet they were not counted. Same old story, Royal Fail making the figures say what they want.

So what about the specific day D2D.Big Daz wrote:I not aware of anything in the proposals that says call rate will be agreed locally![]()

Would these need a 100% call rate or will these be dealt with under flexibility which is also kept as part of this proposal.
There are more problems caused by this proposal than solved by it.
Vote NO.

Re: 100% Call Rate
I think Daz, there is a move afoot to have individual walk-specific call rates.Big Daz wrote:I not aware of anything in the proposals that says call rate will be agreed locally![]()
Whether that is the official line or not,i don't know.

Re: 100% Call Rate
If we get d2d every day for five days then we must go to a 100% call rate , how else can we achieve delivery? If the d2d come pre packed in one sleeve then we could achieve it without 100% call rate. But what about saturdays? If the customer wants there d2d delivered on a saturday only , without a 100% call rate we would have to cut off as the delivery would not be achievable...i thinkBig Daz wrote:I not aware of anything in the proposals that says call rate will be agreed locally![]()

Re: 100% Call Rate
I was talking about specific day D2Ds.
If the geo route works a walk out on 80% call rate and these machines are supposed to be accurate. On a day where I have specific day D2Ds 20% of the walk is not able to be done in time.

It just shows how things are different at a local level.ldsposti wrote:well our 2 men in a van has been put on hold till there is a NATIONAL agreement on call rate its not local.
At our office they have been testing new Geo route walks all through the talks.
Before the agreement has been has been voted on my manager is counting gaps and parcels for his own rates.
Your manager obviousley respects his team.

Re: 100% Call Rate
Was told at a recent meeting by a PEC member that call rate for d2d would be 18% (yea i know it doesnt add up!)
So according to this PEC bloke you do 18% of each one in an 18% portion of the frame each day (who does what and when isnt clear as 18% of the frame may not be 18% of the walk)
So you wont be going to each and every house with them. Day specific therefore probably means 'by a certain date' like for sales that end on a certain day or whathaveyou.

to quote the proposed Agreementpickaname wrote:Was told at a recent meeting by a PEC member that call rate for d2d would be 18% (yea i know it doesnt add up!)

"Both parties also recognise that in addition to growth in the core D2D product further commercial opportunities are likely to exist particularly named/specific day(s) products and/or Saturdays which may provide Royal Mail with additional scope for increased revenue."
These Named days and Saturdays should be planned at 100% call rate, but the proposed agreement also says that "Whilst the planned workload will be spread across the 6 days."
The Words of the proposed Agreement are exactly that.
No matter what Bob Gibson, Dave Ward, Dingo, Lovejoy or Big Daz tell you, your DOM will not be breaking any agreement if he expects you to deliver a full drop of D2D on a specific day without building time into your duty to do so.

Re: 100% Call Rate
Exactly the reason to vote No because we will still not be able to complete and we will have the same problems weve got now and on a bigger scale.

Re: 100% Call Rate
It is! There will not be a national or do call rate but each delivery will have its call rate assessed individually - that is the plan, whether they will have time to do that I don't know but I do know they were worried about what the call rate would be.fishtank wrote:I think Daz, there is a move afoot to have individual walk-specific call rates.Big Daz wrote:I not aware of anything in the proposals that says call rate will be agreed locally![]()
Whether that is the official line or not,i don't know.
Take a large council estate that does not get the amount of DSA and D2D that a suburban estate gets - one could have a call rate as low as 75% the other a call rate of 87% - the prep time for each would be assessed seperately, or could be - so someone who has had a relatively easy time for some years may suddenly find he has part of a lapsed duty to prepare or deliver every day - there is nothing in this agreement to preclude that.
