Four day week

Have any other delivery offices heard that the new way forward is a four day week with most duties starting at 8am and finishing at 6pm,the rumour in my office is that this is what they are going to introduce as it is the only way the can make good on the promise of 1 in 4 Saturday's off.Petersfield office have already been told of this

i think thats the main way they will use to give us 1 in 4 saturdays off, but with that way u can even get 1 in 3 saturdays off. It will probably be agreed locally though

Heard the rumour too so aproached the lino to see if he'd confirm and was told that will deffo not happen in my office and the 1 in 4 sat's aren't realistic. The only real change could be the walks all sorted to around same length of delivery.

You wouldn't need 8-6 on a 4 day week unless you do collections or stuff like that at the end of your duty.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

With regards to DO managers saying NO to most things,it aint up to them,your branch should be involved at area level.Reps should have meetings to work out various formulas/duty structures.

Your attendance pattern will be driven by your office workplan.
Not your DOM,not your rep just the facts.
When you get your mail and your FT/PT ratio.

It will and invariably will be a five day week with saturday working 0700-1500 or later much later!.
