The Agreement and WTL

We were called upstairs for WTL today, where the boss went through the agreement with us. He said two weeks ago it was discussed that it would be a JOINT meeting with CWU and management to answer our questions and such, but since then the union has pulled out. I am guessing the Union has realised to some degree that we are not too pleased with the deal, and are scared to face us. Has anyone else had this?

Also, thought it was quite funny that our DOM told us that his boss basically asked him to sell it to us, but he coulnd't find anything at all in it that he thought would be good. He's pretty much told us to vote no! He's an alright kind of guy, for a boss.

No, ours pretty much said straight out "Sorry, but you lot are getting f****d over."

Wish we could get this kind of honesty out of the rest of RM and the CWU.

The best reason to vote yes that we were given was 'What do you expect to happen if you vote no?'

We were told that the RM was losing so much money (a lie?) that we had to make serious sacrifices to keep it afloat. I'm not sure why the workers have to make these sacrifices for the mismanagement by the bosses, but hey ho.

At some point, you have to wonder if the RM is WORTH saving, if it's really in such trouble. f**k it, let it die. I am NOT going to work for peanuts.

we had a seperate meeting with only CWU members but it was said that the Dom should be present as what the union says about negotiating is a non branier in my office when it comes to what the dom pecieves an agreement should be, and this was raised with the area union rep.

My area rep seems to dislike my info from RMC and stated that area's are voting yes when i said that certain area's more thne two are voting no

we had the same boring meeting with managers and cwu rep hows think we are bets to vote yes down to he can not see where the cwu are going to go next if they get a big no vote. but from talking to others a lot not happy with the deal.

Have they said how this is going to be introduced? and were you shown this magic matrix that the CWU said existed? Not to be critical here but has everyone considered what they'd have to do on the other three Saturdays?

Unless you have a really slack office with small duties, cant see how it can be done without the magic word = ABSORBTION, after all if it was to be
anything other than self funding the CWU should be shouting it from the rooftops, strange how nobody seems to want to discuss the options on the magic

from their own meeting previous day on it in big headlines

The 1 in 4 saturdays stated in the agreement said the majority would get it not everybody.
Our manager thinks it is a great deal because we are going to get 3 definate pay rise over the next 3 years.
I personally think the delivery side has been shafted but dont know if we will get a better deal than this.
And we have been told if it isn't agreed it will come in by executive action anyway .

we had our wtl on tuesday with the highest lino or assistant dim or whatever he calls himself and what he told us and his lack of knowledge defies belief. somebody said will we be losing the 12.37 esa. no he said, i wouldn't think so but i'll get it confirmed. what about later saturdays was another concern. no, it's only rurals that will be affected he said fumbling through the pages of the agreement. then there was a few mutterings of oh it don't seem too bad then. finally he was asked what if we voted no to which he said you would be voting no to 400 quid as everything is final and is being brought in anyway
