On the subject of reserve can you be taken off a round and just made a reserve or did you have to apply for the reserve job in the first place . I was on a job for ages they kicked me off it and put a full timer in my place and i went on reserve this was not in the job description when i applied i just had to stomach it . If this is wrong what redress do i have.

You become a reserve if like most your rather low down the pecking order of your seniority list,and all duties have been allocated as dictatord by the seniority list.

1. Has there been a re-pick in your office.

2. Were are you on the seniority list with regards to the number of people in your office. IE We have 83 people in our office i am 26 on the list so i get a relatively good duty during a repick.

3.Was the duty you were on a vacant duty which was advertised and did you apply for that duty.

4. How many reserves are in your office and out of that number how senior are you to them.

When you are a reserve you are just cannon fodder for R/M they can chop and change you like no ones business. If needed else where with given notice they can ship you out to another office.

Dont worry Bud you will move up the list i can remember looking at the seniority list when i first started and i was last it was very dishearting hang in there the time flies by.

Thanks for that . Re pick is due soon im probably about three quaters way down the list but one of the most senior reserves just hope the whole thing is fair , i dont mind giving way to seniority but there seems to be alot of, dare i say it old school tie going on all the time .
