The management are wiping the floor with the CWU. They have looked at its slow moving structure and attacked it at its weakest spot, the local rep level. Yes, there are some very good unit reps but these have been bypassed or nobbled by special forces prior to the blitzkrieg. The local unit managers have been provided with excellent central support whilst the local unit reps have been left untrained and unsupported by the CWU. We should have used the strike and truce period to reorganise our defences but that has not happened because there has not been the political will. The Labour dominated CWU has capitulated for the 'greater good' of dismantling our national infrastructure so that a new European superstate can be built.

Secrecy is management's most useful weapon in carrying out its agenda of locally agreed change. This is done under the guise of 'confidentiality'. We need a working definition of confidentiality and all workers in a local unit need to be kept informed of proposed changes. Local reps also need expert central support that can be accessed quickly.

Thats not the main reason that unit reps are the weakest point....it's because they could be negotiating with someone with no say........if RM HQ tell DSM's and DOM's "you will do a pegasus revision or you will remove 4 day weeks" then of course they will, and they will do the same in the future over delivery spans if their is no limit in the national agreement.
