The union has been at this for 4 months and this is the best we can get !

I do 3 door to doors a week to 500+ houses which = about £ 30 a week so straight away thats a pay cut of £10 a week.

next the £1000 lump sum lol which is made up of £400 share money we are ment to get anyway.

i can belive we went on strike to get sold down the the thames like this.

and the part timers are going to get sh*t on big time lol pro rota payment for door to doors some will be about £20 worse off a week and pro rota for the lump sum


F**k this job and F**k the union if this deal goes through im out of the union need to save me £3.00 a week for me.

does rm come out with the plan of what it's going to do, and if there were no union, they could just go straight ahead and do whatever they want? so the union tries to negotiate to get them to alter things so that they are more acceptable, but in this day and age, since thatcher smashed the mineworkers, really the unions have very little power, and are perceived to be somewhat ridiculous by the public in general.

Would people be bothered if we went out every Saturday? I doubt it, most businesses don't deal with their post on a Saturday and I doubt the public would be too bothered, unless it was their birthday.

well, i was just thinking, in support of the union, have they done the best they can in trying to negotiate in favour of the workers, even if it doesn't appear to be that good?

i've seen on another forum during the last period of strikes, the majority of people saying, not 'get them all back to work' but, 'sack them all and give their jobs to people who want to work'

i was actually pretty disappointed to find a lot of this kind of talk on the guardian website in response to articles from that paper.
we all know it's become a 'me me me' society, and people are no longer politicized in the way they once were, which is why the agreement is likely to go thru not on it's content, but because of the lump sum. also why the union isn't strong enough in membership to go for protest in the way of work to rule and overtime ban, which i think would be a lot kinder on the workforce.
