expelling union members
Can someone tell me how it is someone can be expelled from the union for being a member of the BNP (a legal political party all be it an extreme one) but someone who crosses an official picket line cannot be expelled?
The reason (so I read in the voice magazine) is that the BNP works against trade union principles. So what other organisations or political parties would membership of result in expulsion?
Taking the above as all well and good, couldn`t it be argued that someone crossing an official picket line is doing much the same in the respect of working against trade union principles?
I would be interested to know the legalities of the above regarding union policy.
For my own part, I could understand if some people had to return for severe financial reasons if a strike became protracted, but it beats the hell out of me how some can not come out on the first day in support of fellow members and still remain a member of the union.

Person who went in last week is striking next week!
Forgive and forget and welcome them to the picket line? Would make a good bit of CWU propganda to be able stick two fingers up at RM by saying to them support is growing and they cant even keep hold of those who went in last time!

If we had anyone who went in on first strike but joined the 2nd strike. I'd give them a round of applause. It would certainly P/o the DOM.

Re: expelling union members
The BNP tried to set up a Solidarity Trade Union , some of the higher up were /are Trade Unionists .Quite a few managers are BNP members here , however when badly handling , as per usual hot potatos or by command & ignore ;strangler wrote:Can someone tell me how it is someone can be expelled from the union for being a member of the BNP (a legal political party all be it an extreme one) but someone who crosses an official picket line cannot be expelled?

cause the sort of resentment & bad feeling due to over zealous political correctness, that the BNP will exploit.
Don't get me wrong I find Griffin to be slimey but very dangerous, & his councillors to be thick football hooligans in suits.

We have the same in our office. Nobody talked to him and he now regrets it. My only hope is that he stays away and we don't get more going through next FridayTrueBlueTerrier wrote:If we had anyone who went in on first strike but joined the 2nd strike. Get rid of all strike breakers from the CWU including dense bastards who hide behind the Union Flag and call themselves patriots and say they support (but seldom ever join, you notice) alleged legal political parties.
The Industrial Workers of the World. The union whose members never scab!

That is true , they never join!IWW Fellow Worker wrote:Get rid of all strike breakers from the CWU including dense bastards who hide behind the Union Flag and call themselves patriots and say they support (but seldom ever join, you notice) alleged legal political parties.
In Central Lancs we've a ML4 who the union allege is a member , has a reputation going back years ; he had someone by the throat in the loading bay but his father begged the MCM not to sack him, he got made up from PHG to acting but it took years & the CMA to make him substantial , apparently when complaining of this to a Messiah type MCM; he was told what have you done for the Post Office. He like a few others wear union jack cufflinks & england ties.
There was a case when a member missed a appointment with ATOS Origin.Aparently ATOS Origin charge £50 for these so there was a series of "fact finding meetings". In one of those meetings that ML4 aparently when walking away & not looking at him { RM state it's not proveable harrassment when someone does that-lawyer's word games) called him a p*** b****** , the member grabbed his wrist & said what did you call me ?, the ML4 said to a acting mgr **** did you see that?
He was suspended but the ML4 aparently went on leave, but another ML4 when questioned about him said "He's fallen off his ladder in the garden!"
Nobody could find witnesses to that ML4 being "set on" & the member was EVENTUALLY reinstated ., but the LSM was very sniffy in his return to work interview.
That ML4 did get someone stitched up for aggressive & hostile behaviour towards but every time the union appeal a "witness" appears from nowhere.
Most reps describe as a parasiticial a****** who just plots. His "cunning" plans haven't always been good enough. :lfo :cfo

The anti trade union laws make any retribution moves by the Union null and void. The strike breakers would take the union to court and the union would be fined and would have to reinstate the filth. As for the BNP
, their message is to divide the working class along racial lines and when they gain control they would ensure that the workers do as they are told. 1926 the General strike in Britain, 1933 onwards in Germany, 1939 in Spain and 1973 Chile show that nationalistic tendences can and will be used by the bosses to ensure that workers are never given the power or the respect they deserve. BNP are wolves in sheeps clothing, smash the nazies where ever you find them. The strike breakers are self centred and their basis for life is money, hopefully they will be in the first cuts.
