They want me out as well
Will they actually have any staff if they get their way?

Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Because I only do overtime if I feel like it.sharonbar wrote:why do they want you out ips
I am also a clever little git at times and if there is anything the managers hate more, it's any form of intelligence.

They want any non conformers out - they want an army of part time robots - simple as

Re: Being primed for sackage
everyone here is right. we are all being done over daily. we cant just go in and do a job. they change everything too often so we cant adapt. then blame us for not doing our job properly. family first then job. i come to work for my wife+kids not to lose touch with them.robd wrote:memo to self, must be more adam friendly, less family!

I too am being primed for my P45.......I was told that I should be watching my back as a friend of a friend overheard another colleague (
of a colleague
) saying that the clever and quiet ones will be the first to go and the Loud and stroppy ones will be left to mop up the mess that is left. I think this is the story nationwide so at least we are all in the same boat without a plug....

Re: Being primed for sackage
Just play by the rules and get a rep in with you in any disciplinary meetings. You do not have to do overtime and they can't force you to. Forgetting a bag of parcels as a one off is not a sacking offense either, just make sure you double check in future and don't let it happen again. Most of all don't be intimidated by thier crap. Much of the bullying that is going on by management at the moment is complete bullshit. They tell you things that are not true hoping you will fall for thier lies. Particularly on things like cutting off, which you ARE entitled to do as long as you follow proceedure ie let them know in advance if its likely to happen. Be strong and make sure you know your rights and most of all don't let them stress you out. Oh and don't let them make you feel sorry for them and help them out either, I have made a line manager cry before... they'll try anything hehe
Union what Union? Do we have a union?

Re: Being primed for sackage
just get a fellow postie to witness in future, show him your packet bag is empty and your fram is clear of mail and packets, then if managers say you left things cos they could stitch you up, you can say no i dont think so and ive got a witness. Or show your line manager you are clear and ask him if you can leave the office, if he gives you permission its his responsiblity not yours, but once again id get a witness as he would deny it.

Re: Being primed for sackage
If the figure quoted elsewhere on here (1 in 5 jobs to go with the introduction of park and loop) is even remotely close to the truth, in my DO we could expect to lose approx. 10 jobs. As all the old boys took EVR last time we have very few (3/4) who would take it this time.So how are we going to manage the surplus?I do not doubt that in this agreement it will state there will be no compulsory redundancies (and the CWU will point proudly to that).Yet on the ground it will be a different story. The slightest misdemeanour will lead to dismissal if your face doesn't fit. The reps and the tribunals are going to be very busy for the next couple of years.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
