working in a winter wonderland
went into work today and our dom if you can give him that title came round and said because the weather was so extreme and conditions to deliver were rubbish we could go home at 8 if we wanted. yayyy we all thought until here threw in this curve ball but the 6 hours you gain have to be given back over the remaining of the week!! so we all went out in appalling conditions! obviousley our welfare isnt paramount to the royal mail clawing back free hours is despite the circumstance we would be gaining them through! :cfo

They said that to us as well, but said we could go at half ten, and we owed them 4 hours. We told him to stuff it and just shoveled snow all day till we knocked off.
Giving them nothing. He spied his arse when we stopped on, threatening to send us out on delivery.
Those that never made it into work, have to take it out of annual leave, and those that kick off, won't get paid for the day.

the real workers.
Are us posties the only ones working in royal mail today. Just phoned Pensions helpline to get a pension forecast and was told that due to the weather conditions there were a reduced number of people working in the office so to ring back tomorrow.!!! Must all be at home suffering from snowblindness caused by gazing out of the window with hot cuppa in hand and wondering what the white fluffy stuff is thats on the ground!

We all struggled in somehow and got called around the front by our dom who said it was fine out and was a NORMAL day 
He went on to say we would have to cover absorbtion as well 
I went out and it was a real nightmare a good 25cm worth. Broke off and brought over half back
