Sorry but a vote of confidence now would do so much damage that the CWU would not recover for years possibly a decade. If we signal now that we have no confidence in BH or DW then RM will smell blood and go for the jugular. Within 18 months at the most the CWU would be sidelined or even de-recognised.

In my honest opinion if a vote of confidence was actually passed it would be like changing drivers at 200mph in a Grand Prix, impractical and dangerous.

Ok some on here are pissed off with the "Interim" agreement and while I understand why, there are some sections which are questionable to say the least. But, and this is an important point, this is not a plan for an agreement that we will vote on, it basically an agreement that allowed the strikes to be suspended, and that was only when the CWU were happy with the subjects covered and the conditions under which the further talks would take place.

In essence am I happy with the Interim agreement - No
Should we have a vote of confidence - No it would send the wrong signals to RM senior management.

Tricky one this--but if we had a different leadership--R/M may actually sit up and take notice---Billy has had too many opportunities slip away, and no one can believe he has our, or indeed the Union movements interests at heart.
