been there before in the 90's , it's " " management " by harassment and various forms of bullying " - the " robust " style is to soften people up and knock the stuffing out of them for privatization - all a means to a end .

If a Senior Manager says - " We need a culture change " - it will become institutionally rife .

Telling letter in Daily Mail . A mental health professional of 30 years standing , asking just what is going on in RM . Says that in all his years in practice he has never witnessed anything like the last year. Snowed under with employees all from one firm ,all suffering from stress/depression all caused by B and H to meet unrealistic targets. He's never seen the like of it :cfo

If you feel you are suffering from B & H from your Manager there are robust procedures within RM that you can enter in to. No one should feel bullied and harrassed at work. Any complaint received will be received and the Gateway team will investigate. They will then bring in professional investigators from outside of your office and deal with the perpatrators. Remember zero tolerance!

Think about what you percieve as B & H. If you have been challenged about your performance or your behaviour from your manager then this is not B & H this is your Mngr just doing their job. If you come into work, get on with your work, display the right attitude to your colleagues what have you got to worry about.

:hmmmm The last person in my office to put in a B&H had the case dismissed and was put onto the conduct code because of it BUT there was no investigation, no interviews and the decision was reached before the first interview had taken place (they made the mistake of sending the letter stating this to the person who was making the claim and not the person who should've recieved it). So, do you really think that we have any confidence in the procedure whenever things like this happen?

Sorry grievance procedure is a joke.
I can't go into all of it but :-
Had a chap with a good case against a DOM . The DOM'S manager took the case and turned it around to be the postman's fault that his individual performance was down!!-----cover up!!

Well, dont give up no one should be treated in this way. What I would advise anyone to do if you feel that you are being bullied, is make a diary of events as and when they happen. If you have a meeting with the MNGR always ask a colleague to go in with you as a witness. Keep any documentation and ask to see any evidence they may have. If you dont get any joy with the senior management in your office go higher you will get listened to.

Good luck, I feel for anyone who has or is being bullied, in my experience though I have seen both my colleagues and the managers being bullied. We just need to work together, pick up our pay and enjoy our lives with our families that the most important thing, :confused :angel

I concur the grievance procedure is a waste of time!
A manager investigating another manager is never going to go err on the side of the postie.
I`m though just about to hand in my own tomorrow,I`m doing it not because I think Royal Fail are going to do anything about it but because it`s what is required before it goes to ACAS or farther.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Totally agree with ya General :Very Happy I went through the B&H procedure and what a load of B/S!!!!! When myself and my rep where given the verdict the manager who had done the investigating was shaking like a leaf!!Huh! Says it all if you ask me!!!! But in the end I won!!!!! :Applause :Applause I support the strike all the way and tell that to every postie I see!! :dance
