Posties really aren't this daft are they?

Post by giveemenoughrope »

This is a quote from a striking postie taken from the guardian website.

David McGow, 42, a postman at the depot, said: "I just want to know that I've got a job until I'm 60. Nobody wants to strike, people think we're just out here for the sake of it. We're not

"I've got a job until I'm 60"

No job is secure for life! This guy is on another planet and seems he doesn't understand why the strikes are even happening if that's his reason. If this is representative of even a small percentage of posties, well I'll just say. It explains a LOT.

I'm just worried that if this strike action continues and even part time jobs are scarce, we're going to see another wave of male strippers at our working mens clubs,,,, a la "The Posties Full Monty"

No,,, don't even think about it :dance

that's the problem the underhandedness of RM - RM want a Dutch TNT type system , that entails a 16 hr students / mums /casualised army delivering late into the evening two times a week ,& charging businesses £3000 a year to have mail delivered earlier .

One slight problem - Holland is a bit different to Britain , far less rural , smaller and more compact with many multi - occupancy addresses with communal mail boxes .

The other problem is the 70's Car Factory Manager style of Management ( That's the view of the CMA ( Communication Manager's Association ) NOT the fifth column ! ) that is in vogue with RM's Senior & Area managers and the one size that doesn't fit anything at all approach .

Talk about stating the obvious, there is always one, we are well aware job losses are on the horizon and just want RM to stick to agreements relating to redundancies etc. I wouldn't believe everything youu read in the paper either. :arrrghhh

I would not believe anything giveemenoughrope has to say either.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
