Swine Flu

Im after a bit of info, has anyone had to deal with stage warnings triggered due to members contacting swine flu.

As far as i know swine flu is classed as a pandemic which is higher than an epedemic and any stage warnings triggered due to illness that is classed as a epedemic should be discounted from stage warnings, but with the way things are at the moment is any one having trouble with this.

RM are treating it as any other illness and issuing stages on it.

You can understand that to a degree - we have had people taking time off with "swine flu" and treating it as a weeks holiday. If so many people didn't abuse the system it might not be so tough

I took 3 days off with Swine Flu because I was scared of being sacked, my first few days back I found it really difficult breathing the managers knew it aswell but said go home if you can't do the job,they were'nt concerned about me infecting colleagues/customers with it. Its been 2 weeks since I first got it and I'm still not fully recovered. Caring employer my arse!!

I have just dealt with a stage 2 triggered by swine flu. I managed to get the member off mainly because the manager never followed proper procedures and not because they were treating it as a pandemic.
