As a lot of you know it was very wet today especially in the essex area I am
I had my last bag to deliver which takes about 45 mins to do, This bag lays in my cycle box on the front which does not have a cover and is open to the elemnts.
A Lot of letters over the course of my duty were wet when put thru L/boxes.
Any way got to my last house and had 4 letters the last letter at the back which was A4 size was inside my bag trying to keep as much wet of it as possible , but as you know with our red bags they do soak up the wet.
I put the letters in the householders box on there wall, walked down the path past another house and then into mine which has 30ft garden to front door,
Just put the keys in the front door and this guy came out of the house with the A4 letter shouting at me what is this holding the A4 letter in the air, (Though lets not be sarcastic here, could have said it was a letter) and just replied it is wet,
you know the complaints procedure get in touch with the office.I mean there he is in the pouring rain and the letter is getting wetter.
Now I could have taken the letter back to the office with me and put it in the little bags that say sorry for the damage , but they would have complained getting the mail a day letter, or even worse RM trying wilful delay,
I tell ya it beggars belief with some people out of 425 calls probably only one that complains lol
