MANAGERS-BONUS ?

Post by ORANGE »

As i understand all managers recived a bonus applicable to thier pay scale level for enforcing through the changes for modernisation,i read today that RM intend to cull 60,000 more jobs over the next 2 years on top of the thousands that have already gone, the thought of recieving a bonus is very nice but can they not see the bigger picture, with the loss of so many employees next on the list will be managers, paid to do the changes but now we no longer need this number of managers, its thier jobs to that will eventually be at risk and as they belong to unite union they should now be standing by our side if only to save thier jobs and the postal industry. i have worked in other large organisations and seen this very tactic used before.

I cant see this happening as the only time Unite and the CWU came together was to fight pensions. I think you will see many managers becoming part time in the future as most line managers have sweet fanny to do once the deliveries go out

very true but the management way of thinking is if i make more and more savings then i will be invaluable and there will be a place for me on the lifeboat. we are a small office and if we are transfered to a larger office that already have a management team in these days of saving money why not get rid of the manager. it's time for them to wake up and realise the have no friends above or below. set of richard heads all of them. :cfo :mfo

Excuse me but, a Manager is only a Manager in Royal Mail as they are not qualified to manage anywhere else..................... :d'oh!

Now consider the Managers that just stand around, doing nothing but watch you work, these are the ones with a number etched on the forehead, the next to go after the work force.

Job Centre Interview:-

I'm a royal mail manager............so what...........here's a job cleaning wheelie bins...........go manage
Trust Royal Mail? God help us all.....

Now repeat after me "would you like to go large for an extra 30p", "I can recommend the whopper" (and I think he is referring to a burger, but it may be the company statement on strategy). :hmmmm

I had to laugh when one of the line managers once said that industry thought a lot of RM Managers and they were actually "head hunted" - I assumed he was talking about Borneo
