Is 48hrs rolling enough?

So anyway, fellow donkeys, next Saturdays going to be busy!

Aren't the MC's going to clear most of Thursdays backlog on Friday and aren't Delivery Offices going to put out most of Fridays mail on the Saturday? I mean what's the effect of this type of strike at that point in the week? It just shifts the mail back 2 days, come Monday it's service as usual. And we loose a days pay for what? Don't we atleast need an OT ban and work-to-rule as well?

Refuse to do overtime/extended

Its pretty simple really!!!!!!

Yes it is enough minimal pain in the ass for us and your customers

The effect for us will be the impact on monday and tuesday,of the following week,because
we are still lapsing as per the summer agreement (this is the subject of an ongoing disagreement
that has been ignored)so several duties that are left uncovered will not be done by us.
it's worth losing a days money for this alone!

Also dont look at the letters when your moving.
And also remove bag from shoulder when taking next bundle. Remember, bag strap should go over neck so you will have to stop, bend down, fumble for bundle, stand up, untie, place bands in pocket, bend down, bag over shoulder, stand up, look at next letter then move on. Make sure your bundles are small enough so you can manage them comfortably with one hand.
Oh and another thing - its 2mins waiting time before you fill in the form for parcels etc. This has been highlighted in the media recently so RM have warned this is a conduct code offence if this isnt observed.

All time consuming for the runners but follows RM H&S/ delivery rules.

RM cant accuse you of going slow as you have 3.5hrs to complete everyday. Use it.

Busy or not, I will do the job properly, as I do every day anyway, and if RM dare ask any favours from me, well, it won't be quite "feck off", but my answer will be along those lines, if you get my drift.

I really dont think this is the most effective tactic for striking... with the M.C.s out on the thurs there wont be any mail to deliver on the friday anyway!
So whats the point of us D.O. staff being on strike on the fiday when there would be nothing for us to do if we were in work?
All that will happen is the managers will spend all day friday pushing the mail through to the D.O.s so that we get hammered on the saturday then everything more or less back to normal by the monday.
I think a more effective method would be to leave a days gap between the M.C. strike and the D.O. strike?

Heres what happens in my D.O.

IF,someday, say,monday, you extend, say by an hour, you can come in an hour later on Tuesday, as long as you leave a note in the ofice when you return.

On a busy day, if you can be arsed, extend, do the job properly, for 2 hours, and come in 2 hours later next day.
If you are a double prepper- prepping 2 walks, nothing is done until you come in, thus, 2 walks are fooked.

We can all use the system to our advantage.

Sadly, not enough of us do.

They can hammer us as much as they like.I have from 6 till 1 and that is it.We run pretty close to that on a normal saturday.

there might be a lot of mail on saturday but as long as you do your hours then clearing it isn't your problem. no need to come in early, not have a break. rush about or do overtime etc
