Have Your Say

Post by smok3y666 »

I just got my depots HYS results. Me and my work colleague were looking through them last night and both agreed that they are, tbh, s**t. More or less all the results are worse than last years. We also both agreed that were it any other company someones head would role. What are RM or in my case PF supposed to do about it? Surely a company with, in our case, depot results that bad don't just turn a blind eye and forget about it? If it were my depot and I was incharge I wouldn't be happy at all and certainly be worried about wether i'd be keeping my job.

in our office,,,our dom handed them out selectively,in any other industry the resulting replies would have formed an outside investigation into the bullying and harassment, unfortunatly our caring employer sees fit to ignore the findings, and continues to employ individuals as managers, who they allow to bully and harass staff as a means to deploy efficiency, corporate bullying on a grand scale to acomplish bonus payments for management, without address to health and safety issues for those subjected to there brutal and often derogatory implementation of work standards, quite apart from the dignity and respect element of todays royal mail hierarchy ,as a major employeer governed by agreed procedures, where can they be allowed to ignore responsabilitys enshrined in law , ie,duty of care to all employees, forcing compulsary o/t.removal of pay, missuse of conduct code procedures as a means to bully and control, all of these and more have been highlighted in have your say results, and what has been done ,nothing,,the reason is that the doms are acting on instrutions from above, therefore by defination are doing the bidding of the senior managers, who are hardly going to start investigating bullying doms for follwing management corporate bullying policy,
HAVE YOUR SAY IS A LEGACY OF THE PREVIOUS YEARS CAMPAIGNS SUCH AS HEARTS AND MINDS,ETC,WHICH WAS TO ALIENATE CWU MEMBERS AGAINST EACH OTHER,THEREBY DRIVING TOWARDS DIVIDE AND CONQUER,THE HEARTS AND MINDS FAILED,THAT INDEED IS NO EXCUSE FOR THE DECISION TO INTRODUCE ALL OUT WARFARE ON EMPLOYEES AND IN PARTICULAR TARGET CWU ACTIVISTS,THERE IS NO PLACE FOR BULLYING AND HARASSMENT IN THE WORKPLACE AND EMPLOYERS LIKE ROYAL MAIL SHOULD NOT BE GRANTED IMMUNITY FROM PROSECUTION FOR ENCOURAGING AND CONDONING IN THE PURSUIT OF PROFIT ,I AM SURE THE CWU COULD QUITE EASILY PROVE RM HAS BULLYIED,DISCRIMINATED,VICTIMSISED,HARASSED,STAFF THIS ABOVE ALL ELSE IS INTOLERABLE TO THE GREAT BRITISH PUBLIC AND NEEDS TO BE HIGHLIGHTED ,PUBLIC OPINION HAS MORE CLOUT THAN HAVE YOUR SAY,LETS TELL THE PUBLIC WHAT LIFE IS LIKE WORKING FOR RM 2009,

Don't fill them in, they are not going to do anything about any of the problems highlighted so they are just useless pieces of paper.

Unless of course, someone was to leak the results to the Press. Annonymously, of course.

i heard that managers are scored on these hys surveys, if you dont improve on your previous score, your bonus grading is reduced severley.

I never fill mine in, even though i would love to let them know exactly what i think about the way the company is being run and just how useless our local managers are! We were told by a manager that it doesnt really matter whats written on the HYS forms, as they get a bonus from just getting a certain percentage of the forms completed. :arrrghhh

I agree with you now after what happened in my office. What a waste of time.

The DOM won't let us see the result's from the comments page, he say's that people can tell who wrote the comments.
The truth is that many people complained about his bullying methods.
We will never know the truth as in true Royal Mail tradition let's ignore peoples views and make anything not positive dissappear.

Does anybody know if he is allowed to do this. Next year just let the DOM fill them out himself.

I gave up on HYS some time ago after comments I'd spent some time and thought on were completely ignored. On one occasion since, the manager gave out the forms in WTL and tried to insist that we filled them in there and then. Most sadly fell into line but I refused -- 'a nil return is a comment in itself'. More recently we've had these surveys but no-one's ever bothered to announce the results.

Something i have thought for a long time .
Its got to be a more effective use of of our subs than than we are seeing now.RM are wining the media war
people like croz rehearse their soundbites ( only work the hours their paid)etc.
CWU leaders need to either get tv and radio savvy or better still keep quiet and employ media spokesman like RM.
Theres just never an article in the papers without a lie/quote from a RM spokesperson.

How to answer the HYS.

Post by andy2007 »

Why do we need a new thread on it (but feel free to start one, if you want to)?
It's quite simple, really: Answer it honestly, and pay particular attention to the bit at the end, where you can add comments. Just try not to put anything that could identify you (or risk a disciplinary!). Just the same as if you're posting on here, really. :hmmmm

My office has been put on the naughty step :chuckle we had the head of industrial relataions ( :hmmmm :nervous ) down this morning asking us to fill ours in because out of an office of 40 plus, there have only been 6 returned :chuckle :chuckle . She was told that in the past we had filled them in, highlighting all the problems that where going on, that nothing ever happened beyond the initial meeting (even getting the senior managers in) asking why our results where so bad, she was also told that we wouldn't be filling them in again because they where totally useless but on the bright side she was quite shocked that we never had any meetings to try to sort the problems out (and even more shocked to find out that we didn't have WTLL sessions).
