suspension of pay

Hey,
Couldnt lapse today, had no time, and i received a letter from the dim telling me i needed to reconsider before tomorrow, and if i dont lapse tomorrow then he will suspend a days pay. If i can lapse tomorrow i will but if i cant (wont go over) then wtf?

His request is unreasonable, if you ain’t got the time to laspe, explain that under phase 3 of pay and mod agreement lapsing is to be done were time allows, if he wants you to lapse then explain that you will need to leave some mail off your normal duty follow section 3 of conduct code, above all let your rep know what’s going on if the manager doesn’t back off grievance form is going to be your next option.

When you receive a first letter from your Dom, just explain that you cannot manage within the nationally agreed 3.5 hour time span for deliveries. If he issues you with a second letter the next time then be reasonable and again explain you cannot manage within the time limit. Ask him if he would reasonably consider testing your delivery so that you can prove this to him. Also hint that the both letters use the word reasonable in it and that you are being reasonable. If he wishes to suspend your pay without testing you then it is in fact him that is being unreasonable. Tell him that you will get a lawyer and take this further and that because he is being unreasonable there is every chance that RM will not support his actions. You MUST be reasonable and that is the end of the suspension of pay.

Be very careful Broxi51. I was threatened with a B&H complaint, because I consulted a Lawyer, and quoted her, to a Manager. He (the Manager) claimed that I was "trying to threaten him with Lawyers, and that he has the might of RM's Legal Team behind him"! And all this, because I checked my facts about a DDA issue.

Aparently, you have to exhaust RM's internal procedures, before taking it outside. So I was forced to back down, temporarily. Although it got sorted out in the end. Tread carefully.
