Probably less than what you donate to the Labour party through your Union dues? You pays your price and takes your choice. Personally I'd be asking why is the CWU giving the Labour Government so much money given what Lord Mandelson has said.

AFAIK 2p weekly from the political levy is for affiliations/donations yo the Labour Party.
That's £1.04p per year.
So it would take about 58 years to donate £60 to the Labour Party.

I think you are the one who would get the better value with a bic pen than giving the Government a penny. I trust given you have such an issue with the Government you will have opted out of the political levy?
The political levy (10p a week) does not all go to the Labour Party - only 2p.
The rest is used for other 'political' campaigns such as the Keep the Post Public campaign.
I would rather not donate anything to the Labour Party, but have not opted out of paying
the political levy (yet anyway) because it would mean that I would not get a vote when we
eventually get a ballot on disafilliation.
But the Union is stil giving the current Government (well the Labour party) hundreds of thousads of pounds. Why arent the members tellingthe Union leadership to cease funding the party.
