Ladies and Gents,
Just a quick question I'm hoping someone will have the answer to.
Is there any documented evidence to support the notion that under the S.D.D Agreement, duties that solely delivered to Firms via the use of a van should remain on two deliveries? I'm sure I was told about it but cannot find it anywhere.
If anyone can help I would appreciate it immensly as My managers are currently looking at using our drivers for walk absorbtion and not delivery postmen and women.

The problem lies not with the SDD Agreement but with one of the 'catch-all' elements in the 2007 Pay & Mod Agreement where mention is made of .. ''all hours will be utilised''.
With the growth in packets, perhaps your Firm duty can help relieve the pressure on that side if time permits on the duty.

Depending on where you are or what kind of firms you've got,there are some firms (massive ones)that get an early delivery,then a second one with the rest of the stuff.
Firms can pay to get a timed delivery as well.
Chances are you could be onto a looser with this one.

I think you're right Postman, We actually increased our Runaround duties by one in our D.B.P. revision so there is no need to utilise the drivers on the increased packets, I think we will have to suck on this one, but the drivers are gonna inconvenience them wherever possible by doing the job properly , so it may help us in the long run when they try it on the 'Walkers'.
