I have recently put a grievance in about my DOM's duty of care towards me since my return from major knee surgery which ended in me having a serious relapse and now being looked at for IHR.
It ofcourse ended (after 60 days!) with none of the questions i wanted answers to being answered and my grievance ofcourse not being upheld.
I have asked my Cluster Dom if i could see my stage 1 grievance file and he has told me that i cant as it is confidential.
Has anyone else come across this or know whether he is right, seems strange to me as i am part of the file.
You could try freedom of information act although not sure if its applicable in this case. No harm checking though.

write to Royal Mail's data protection compliance manager and formally submit a subject access request under the data protection act. They will provide you with all information held on you.I think their is a £10 charge for this.
go to stage 2 ,,, ive had the same problem ,i'm now awaiting stage 3 interview ! ! when i requested information on rules and agreements i have been told it's up to the managers discretion to allow information to be shown ?? ive requested managers from outside my postcode area to deal with my case that has been ignored, ive writen to the chairmans office and got fobbed off !! (belive me when i say all the managers will stick together they will never go against another manager but if you dont try then you will never know )all my paperwork has been sent to CWU headquaters ,this is just what is happening all over the country they are ignoring guidlines ,put a stage 2 in then stage 3 then appeal what you got to lose ?????
did you mean your Manager did not reply to any of your Questions? If so, just remind him all grievances should be dealt with within a four week window. you are entitled to have it dealt with and reasons given for either going ahead or otherwise.
Do. what I did, put in another grievance, pointing out they do have legal obligations to respond in a set way.
I've alwatys said any Manager of any firm should be duty bound to study not only Company policy, but Employment legislation.
I tried the Freedom of Information Act one, thanks TBT, it stumped him for a while but he had it confirmed that the file still remains confidential. I will look into the Compliance Manager one, thanks undertaker. I have now put in a Stage 2 grievance, and i will certainly take your advice stokes11eg, during the stage 1 grievance i gave the investigating manager 2 A4 sheets of questions i wanted the answers to, and her decision to not uphold the grievance in the end did not mention that my questions were even asked let alone answered by my line manager.
What is the procedure after it goes to Stage 3 - appeal?
Did she give you a written statement saying exactly why your grievance was not upheld? Was there any meetings between yourself and the management prior to this decision.? Or has she just just dismissed things out of hand?
You can write to them again, requesting what her reasoning was, and state quite clearly you expect a written answer within four weeks.
