Prep time question

I'm on 32.5 hrs and start at 7.30 every morning except sat when I start at 6.30am..40hrs contracts start at 6am... What I need to know is do the fulltimers have more prep time than I do? Manager reckons they don't but thought I would ask you guys and not just not take the word of a manager who came straight from college 5 months ago... Thanks in advance guys

In my office the full timers do about 90 minutes IPS during their approx 8 hour duty. I work 6 hours with no IPS and 10 minutes less meal relief than the F/T's, so they have on average about 30 minutes more prep time. Saying that though there are some who seem to be allergic to IPS and spend most of their time preping their delivery. They sometimes have to do extra IPS depending on traffic, but most have more time to prep their deliveries than the part time staff. They've also been there for years so know most of the deliveries which speeds up the prep.
Just ask your manager for a breakdown of a full time duty, if he can't even do that, he'll go far in RM.

Well the manager reckons they don't have any longer to prep than part timers as they are doing ips from the time they walk in the door to which my reply was well how has bobs letters managed to get in his frame before I came in then and surprise surprise he couldn't answer me and just stood there

Maybe bob comes in early and does some unpaid work for RM . Full timers in our place start at 6am and go straight onto IPS. Usually off about 6.45am and get about 20 mins on frame before going back.

If depends on each office.

At my DO we FT do the following:

0600 - 0615 - Prep of walk (really means collect mech bundles)

0615 - 0755 - IPS - Though TBH its rare that we do the full time allotted as there is no pointing if we have sorted all the mail

0755 - 0915 - Prep and bagging of walk

0915 - 0930 - IPS missorts

0930 - 1010 - break

1010- 1025 - Convey

1025 - finish time - delivery

Part Timers:

0800 - 0930 - Prep and Bagging

0940 - 1010 - Break

Then same as FTimers
