missing mail

Post by johnsouthwales »

what are the chances of two similar packages to the same destination on two seperate occasions going missing?? grr culd only happen to me.

im suprised rm do not count saturdays in the 15 days wait period. no wonder some people get away with things, by the time rm get involved, theyre long gone.

im not making a compensation claim as the retailer is picking up the cost, but i feel rm should be made aware of this.

couldn't believe it when the retailer emailed me yesterday saying the 2nd package also failed to turn up.

either someone knows exactly what the particular address is. my address was written on the reverse of both packages anyway, so even if there was a muck up with the postcode or the freepost code, there would have been no excuse not to contact me if there was a problem of it not being delivered.

possibility of the biro ink being erased by accident in the first could be plausible, but not the second. address written on plastic postage bag purchased at postoffice. could have been erased and redirected by filling in a new address to someone else? lol im sceptical.
and here comes avi cohen! oh i say! at the same end, he's got one back!!

If I were you, I'd contact IB. There could be other packages going missing for that address too. If there's a thief hiding amongst us, then he/she needs to be found, and dealt with ASAP!

If on the other hand, the packages are simply lost in the system. Then they will turn up. Either way, the problem gets solved.

I normally get people to tell customer services about this sort of thing so that a pattern can be seen if there is one. Helps find the thievin lil git if that's what's causin them to go missing.

yeh i told customer services, heck of a job to speak to an adviser going through all the options lol grr. didnt seem to be that concerned, just said to fill in p58 and post it. then i said about the second one.

if there was a problem with the address and others were going undelivered, im sure rm would have spoken to the company about it.. cant see the company giving out a dodgy address lol.. unless the packages have been delivered and they're saying it hasn't been received tut. inside job.

funny thing happened this morning, i received a package mailed on saturday, it was one of those plastic mail packs sold at post office, the same type i returned the two missing packages with.

anyway, i knew what was inside the package today, but what made me think earlier, that before, was that the writing could has been smudged, ink run. looking at the package, my address was crystal clear. so in a way, that theory could be ruled out. then again, what didnt happen today doesnt mean that it hadn't happened before.. grr back to square one.

is this a joke? or someone taking the pish??? had a letter from rm five mins ago.

I was very sorry to hear of the problem you've experienced with mail addressed to #####

Of the huge volumes of letters and packets we handle, very few encounter a problem along their way - but we take every single failure seriously.

My investigations into your enquiry have included checking all available service information and i cannot identify why this problem has occured.
Additionally, due to the millions of pieces of mail that pass through our massive postal pipeline each day, we cannot trace items unless a specific trackable service is used.

I have however been able to take the following action:

Logged and reported the full details of your complaint.
Passed these details to my colleagues in our delivery operation.
Enclosed a book of stamps as a refund of the postage you paid.

In light of the service you have used and the evidence provided, i'm afraid the compensation in this instance is limited to a refund of the postage paid or 6 first class stamps, whichever is the greater. If you wish to claim for the value of lost items in the future, you will need to provide additional evidence, such as the certificate of posting and proof of the item's value. A certificate of posting is provided free of charge when posting at a post office.

I'm afraid there are no further investigations i can make, so i hope that the action and explanation above resolves your enquiry and concludes this matter. If you have any other concerns though, please contact us via the details above, quoting your unique reference number shown on the top left of the page.

Once again, please accept my sincere apologies on behalf of royal mail for the problem you've had, and our thanks for taking the time to make us aware of this. Please be assured that we take letting our customers down seriously and wil use this information to make further improvements.
