Im on a 24 hour contract and i’ve been in the job now for around 6 months.
I started off on a part time town delivery, working 7-1 for 4/5 days a week. About a month in to the job the duty I was on was changed to 10-6. The round is prepped for when I come in, I do the round, come back, do a few parcels then do collections. Although I’m not happy with the hours, it means I’m doing 40 hours a week, and i’m not really in a position to say no to the overtime.
However, there’s talk in my office that the walk I do is going to be lapsed. If this does go through I’ll be left doing just parcels and collections, working 1-6 Monday to Friday.
Is there anything I can do about this? Seeing as I live about 15 miles from my office it would be a pain in the arse for me to go back and forth every day for just 5 hours.
The hours advertised for the job was 9-2, so can I throw this back at them? Really not happy with this at all.
Rant over, thanks.

The only thing you can insist on is your 24hrs per week but I'm sure that there will still be plenty of OT if you want it.
