A member of staff got his van stolen on sat, dont know the full story if it was his fault or not but the van was retrieved albeit in a tree but not a lot of damage i believe.Scenes of crime comming in on Monday for fingerprints.25 years in the job this postie what could be the possible reprecussions for him if found to be blameworthy :nervous time

Depends if he was at fault. Did he take all precautions such as locking the doors etc. Or did they break a window and hot wire it.

If he was culpable the worst is unfortunately to be sacked.

I can remember when the day when a fellow brother got locked in the back of his van at gun point....... this was many a moon ago and the chap has well left the business now...and can remember the day when REM drivers had petrol thrown over them for the cash in the vehicle....
Unfortunatley the new delivery office bods have no idea how RM use to be and just think..... the vehicle was signed out to you so here is your P45........ :arrrghhh

We had a young lad sacked last year - he had about 12 years service, he left the keys in, prior to that a van was stolen with all the SDs in and he wasn't sacked, though after that all drivers had to sign a declaration on the use and security of vehicles.

In the circumstances I would fear the worst and hope for the best.
