cars on delivery return to office by driver

we are advised by the cwu to do the job properly, and not use cars.
when i tried to do this at my office i met with hostile resistant by drivers. Although the 318 for my rota duty clearly stated return to office by various drivers, i was told to `catch a bus`when these drivers where challenged infront of the line manager he supported them.
am i fighting a lost cause??

Presumably it will take even longer to 'catch a bus' back to your DO, so you will have to finish your delivery even earlier.
Amd I presume you will be able to claim your travel expenses.

thanx guys for your input
frustrating cos i`m the h/s rep involved in our revision.
most duties include driver involvement to and from delivery.
getting bags out to posties is also a problem in our office.
getting rid of surplus packets is a major problem as post offices shut and no cooperation from our driving fraternity doesnt help.

I used to ride my bike on the pavement wherever possible, abusing anyone who made me slow down, cycling over pedestrian crossings, zebra crossings and railway crossings - and no I'm not a thug BUT whilst cycling on the road one fine but cold day, a little bit overcast, some dickwad pulled out of a junction straight into the side of my trusty millenium. Fortunately for me I had an inkling he was going to do just that even though I was wearing my orange dayglow waterproof at the time, I lifted my leg so he only hit the bike but it was sufficient to throw me into the opposite carriageway, lucky for me there wasn't anything coming the other way otherwise it would have run over me. The bloke driving the van said he hadn't seen me - my response cannot be printed here.

Chances are the drivers will finish earlier than the walkers,so hanging around to pick you guys up wil be a pain to them.
Well tough,if the dutys are designed that way and it's in the 318's then the drivers HAVE to pick you up.
