Dear Colleague
POL: SATURDAY PREMIUM HOLIDAY PAY – CROWN OFFICES
As part of the 2007 pay agreement, it was agreed that for all contractual holiday entitlements average Saturday Premium earnings would apply. In essence, this means that for members with six weeks annual leave in 2008/09, they will receive six weeks worth of Saturday Premium payments.
As a consequence, we have agreed the following arrangements:
· All eligible Crown Office employees (Postal Officers/Retail Assistants) will be paid three weeks average Saturday Premium based on actual earnings during April – September 2008. These payments will be made in October salaries.
· The remaining Saturday Premium holiday pay for the balance of the contractual holiday entitlement will be paid in April 2009 salaries based on actual earnings during October 2008 – March 2009.
Confirmation of the above arrangements being agreed is via the following joint statement:
“Joint Statement - Crown Saturday Premium Holiday Pay
We are pleased to share with you details of the agreement reached between Post Office Ltd and the Communications Workers Union on how Saturday Premium Holiday Pay will be paid this year.
All eligible Crown colleagues will be paid three weeks of average scheduled Saturday premium, based on actual earnings for April – September 2008. The average will be calculated using an annual divisor of 46 weeks to allow for holidays. These payments will be made in October 2008 salaries.
The remaining Saturday Premium holiday pay will be paid in April 2009 salaries, and will be based on actual scheduled Saturday Premium earnings for October 2008 – March 2009. The balance of holiday pay will be equal to each colleague’s annual holiday entitlement less the three weeks paid in October.
