An all out
If the union called us out just now, imagine the carnage with the election material, the mps would have to show more concern etc . Comedy post i know but just a thought

Re: An all out
There would have to be a ballet and more negotiation. Would take ages.

Ward and Walsh in tutus?
I'd vote no.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: An all out
If the CWU called an all out tomorrow 1 of 2 scenarios would occur
1. Only 20% of the workforce would - there is 0 appetite to strike after the last debacle.
2. Royal Mail would take legal action against the CWU (again) and win.

Re: An all out
Everytime they've balloted they've striked most people can afford it and most people love the extra time off also sticking the finger to RM.Gingerbread Fred wrote: ↑31 Mar 2026, 22:17If the CWU called an all out tomorrow 1 of 2 scenarios would occur

My office has always been fairly strong. Listening to people this morning and over the last few weeks, most are saying they won’t go out.
I was surprised when we had a gate meeting recently at the number of long serving posties that had left the union after the last debacle.

Re: An all out
When it comes to the vote there's a threshold for a strike it has always passed the threshold not that we would be striking anyway.

Re: An all out
Half the members have left in the office I work in. So the general consensus is no to a strike.
Not sure what the alternative is? If we don't strike the business will just stampede with there USO reform and reduce the workforce. Now I would be happy for that scenario as long as there is VR which I am sure most of the workforce would be happy to take including myself.
If we do strike we all know what happened in the last strike which was a shambles. With Dave and Co still leading the way all there thinking about now is retirement. We need new leadership. Its not to say the next lot will save the day but it has to be an improvement than what happened last time around.

Re: An all out
A lot of my colleagues that are in the CWU have retired. There`s literally only a few of us left and even the rep is giving it up in April. There are 2 newer recruits that are interested in taking up the job, but the current incumbent hasn`t done anything to recruit new members and seems to have just lost the will. I`m not interested in the job as I`m too old and will leave soon. Re the RM management: we`re dealing with people who didn`t care if kids got their Christmas presents during the last strike. Many of us don`t have the stomach to lose nearly 2k again, and RM will bulldoze their "proposals" by executive action in any case.
