Hi,
Retired in April this year and just wondered when statements arrive for those that have left the business (I'm not drawing my RM pension). I seem to recall it was September?
Thanks

Re: 2025 Statements
Deferred statements are usually sent out a bit later than for employees, but based on my experience you'll be lucky to get an up to date one before 2027!
I left just over 2 years ago, and about two months afterwards I got a 'preserved benefits update' from the RMSPS which provided figures for the total benefits I had with them at that point, but wasn't separated into Age60 and Age65!
RMPP didn't send out their version until early 2024, which was also fairly basic!
I asked both RMSPS and RMPP towards the end of 2023 if they were going to send out annual statements in the form I've always known them(which is what prompted RMPP to send the above), and they both said no, you'll get one next year.
So November 2024 comes along and I get a statement in the form of one A4 piece of paper from the RMSPS, with figures exactly the same as my preserved benefits update the previous year. And nothing at all from the RMPP.
I queried that and both told me I wasn't going to get an up to date statement as I hadn't been left the company a full tax year at the point of them being generated, and wouldn't get one until 2025.
So I'm waiting to see if they materialise this year......and if they're correct!

This is the sort of s**t the unions should be getting to grips with.RobertT wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025, 10:55Deferred statements are usually sent out a bit later than for employees, but based on my experience you'll be lucky to get an up to date one before 2027!

The whole pension information finding out what you have , ( so i can escape the madhouse reforms coming our way soon) is near impossible.

Re: 2025 Statements
I did do a bit of homework on what information pension schemes have to provide to their members, and both The Pensions Regulator website and Money Helper via an email from me, says that defined benefit schemes don't have to provide an annual statement as standard. But they do have an obligation to provide an up to date value of benefits if requested.
I tried that with both RMSPS and RMPP and got the 'I need to have left for as full tax year' excuse, which from memory I think at least one other person on here has experienced too.
As far as I'm concerned that's complete b0ll0cks, but I didn't really want the hassle of complaining. I won't hesitate if this years statements are wrong or don't turn up!

Re: 2025 Statements
I'll be 60 before I hit 12 months after leaving RM so I hope they are on the ball with my NRA60 options. From what I recall I think I should receive options unprompted at around 4 months before NRA is due?RobertT wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025, 16:28I did do a bit of homework on what information pension schemes have to provide to their members, and both The Pensions Regulator website and Money Helper via an email from me, says that defined benefit schemes don't have to provide an annual statement as standard.
