There's nothing stopping you, no. You would technically need to work your notice, but while suspended, that's going to amount to nothing.

Depending on the suspension reason, resigning won't stop any investigation or legal stuff from continuing, so don't think of it as a get out of jail card if you've done something really bad.

What happens if you get suspended and then you are found innocent of whatever it was? Do you paid for the time off?

When suspended it is usually on full pay.

I really don’t understand why people don’t use the time to secure a new job. Unless they have been with the company for a couple of decades+ and have a pension etc to try and save.

Surely the OP hasn't been on full pay since 2022?

Of course you can resign.
But you do not have to.

That’s how I read it too.

Oh yes 22 Feb makes more sense. If it was me I'd not resign. I'd go on holiday and stay on full pay for as long as possible.

Not if its for violent/aggressive conduct and a few other things IIRC
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

I'd need to piss about getting a bunch of extra info from HR, but, in the case of potential "gross misconduct" dismissal, the average contract doesn't give us a guarantee of full pay on suspension as far as I'm aware. It is *generally* true, but the law doesn't guarantee it like you suggest.

The only time you can be suspended without pay is if it is a term in your contract of employment. There is no such contractual term in a Royal Mail contract of employment.
If the employer did suspend pay, then that will be an unlawful deduction section 13 Employment Rights Act 1996 and Section 14 will not apply
