Hi all,

A friend of mine took the offer from Royal Mail back in December for VR - Has anybody actually had the payment yet? They are growing concerned that they haven't had anything yet?

Did they read the severance agreement ?

On this subject, a colleague has sent me a Facebook post ( I'm not on Facebook so can't see it myself) which claims people who took this are being taxed to the tune of approx £3k.
RM apparently saying it's not redundancy, but a severance package.

The colleagues who left in my office received their redundancy payment on their last payslip, no tax paid on it.
I think the documentation they signed said it can take up to six weeks to be paid .

Thank you, I shall let them know - they did mention that the CWU part of the agreement mentioned that it may take 6 weeks but the agreement didn't. If in doubt I guess they could ring/email the necessary channel?
