It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Unbelievable Jeff!
Wonder what happens when there’s to many loops and not enough staff?

Re: Unbelievable Jeff!
I don't see how this makes anything more efficient.
-Assigned X amount of loops - sounds like arguments with managers will ensue.
-If you're on different loops each day then that is more likely to lead to mistakes.
-You will be working on top of each other at those frames.
-Does the frame even have sections so that it is easy to navigate if you don't know where a road is on the frame.
What is the actual benefit of this.....
Also, imagine a new apartment block is built which is located on a road in the middle of that massive frame, they'd have to shuffle so much along to fit it in.

Re: Unbelievable Jeff!
Some loops might be 15 mins and some an hour, How on earth can this be fair.
I guess only one "walk" will fail that sounds better on paper..

Re: Unbelievable Jeff!
I reckon phase two is the implementing of bench merging and the removal of all the prep frames

Re: Unbelievable Jeff!
This has got to be a joke.
Imagine the carnage trying to allocate deliveries. Some people tieing up when their neighbour hasn't even finished prep, re-dis all over the shop, confusion over who is doing which bit, no-one knows where the packets are.

Re: Unbelievable Jeff!
What a great idea
We can now do away with having dozens of posties coming in and prepping just their duty. They will now expect just one postie to come in early and prep half a dozen instead.

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Some sort of track to effectively glide from one fitting to another and the unsequensed sequenced mail would be done In no time

More material for Comedy Central.
So our office, like most, is always understaffed. There’s your lack of drones to do your loops right there.
And who in their right mind is going to agree to ‘take out what’s left’ which is what happens now on a walk which is lapsed? That little bit of overtime hoovering up what’s left could be massive
