Voluntary redundancy
If I wanted to take VR, how do I volunteer for it? I have 9 years of service. How much would I get? I've had enough and really want to go.

Re: Voluntary redundancy
Go on the people app and fill in the preference exercise. That’s all you can do so far. It will show you how many weeks pay you will be entitled to based on your nine years service.

Re: Voluntary redundancy
It's all shown on the People's App, although with just 9 years service your probably just better jumping ship now.

Re: Voluntary redundancy
people app tells me I would get 24 weeks' compensation. Is that 24 weeks' pay? I thought it was one week for every year under 40 and one and a half weeks of pay for every year over 40. I'm confused now
Should I trust what the people app says?

Re: Voluntary redundancy
It's 24 weeks assessable pay, which is everything that's pensionable. If in doubt just use basic pay before deductions, or there's a link to click on the app for more info.
Don't confuse it with Statutory Redundancy Pay, which is the minimum they have to give you by law.
You can find out how much you'd get here: https://www.gov.uk/calculate-your-redundancy-pay
Voluntary will almost always be higher then statutory.

Lol. This made me smile. No ask John in the office to see what he thinks it should be.
