Talks ?

Post by chickenwittle »

Is that it for now then ? I take it the way the CWU are ramping things up with strike dates and gate meetings next week that talks are on the back burner for now ?.Is there any optimism that this gets sorted ?

The last I say on Workplace was ST suggesting yesterday they were considering whether or not to continue with talks? If he does now pull the talks then DW's going to look a right plonker.

This is a managed crisis ie Royal Mail spent the money told us we are a bunch of losers and underperformers while they the CEO thompson and 10 to 15 others took massive pay rises and bonuses on the back of £758 million pound profits.
Also share dividends of £500 million plus payed out and also the fact that they invested in electrification of the van fleet £30,000 a van and charging points.
Not only this they hired agency workers some say 11,000 in June and 10,000 hire vans and also paid managers £1000 to not go sick from September to January.
Also new type uniform costs in design and rollout this is a big rollout not cheep and where has £758 Million pounds profit gone to a £127 Million pound loss they claim £70 Million a day for the 3 strikes before the 26/09/22 if you believe them.
Why because they need to lose the loss making letters business and drive the cost of labour down wages and it is no surprise that they compare us to the lowest paid ie EVIRY workers ie people who drive around all day for bugger all money.
Well as for talks they R/M just stall and the Union cannot get them too listen so expect stikes for the next few months or years as most will not leave on the pitiful terms R/M say the can only afford for the likes of us all!

The 8 days pay you need to make sure of the ballot process ie test it and call action to get the employer to talks it took so bloody long because they did not want to talk to the union but get you all on workplace that failed.
Red lines well everyone is in a different job but NO Sunday working without extra payment also No later finishes ie 3:30 pm or later and No Redundancies without proper consultation and No two Tier workforce!
And we deserve a proper inflationary pay rise for all the work we did to get the £758 million that they used to help enrich themselves and shareholders!
