re joining royal mail

Hi

i was ill 18 months after joining royal mail. A mixture of Covid and a nerve injury.

its all been sorted and i take medication for it but i was let go by royal mail

Am i able to rejoin?

Would expect the Occupational Health Adviser will need to do a report first.
Believe also, HR will put a block on your National Insurance Number for two years from termination of your contract of employment following IHR

Personally,Rejoining RM would be my last option of jobs to consider.

Risk of Covid Reinfection is high due non mask wearing in crowded workspace.
Nerve damage could be be further antagonised especially in feet, shoulder, neck ,back problems due to the nature of the job.
Also adding the job has got worse and is about to get a lot worser.

If you are still determined I would try the agency route of working for RM (delivering parcels in the afternoon).
Obviously crap terms and conditions but my observation is parcel delivery is a lot easier on the body that walking 10-15 miles each day and maybe allowing you through the back door of working for RM again.

to put everything into perspective i wouldn't recommend this job to anyone, BUT it is decent pay if you can be more flexible than plasticine and have very little life balance

Perhaps one would like a onboard view of the titanic going down while the captain of the ship has headed us for land (ROCKS) and is frolicking in the captains lodge with the new terms and comdomisions/conditions anyway the ship of fools has set sail. The very fact they wish the dissociated from the ROYAL MAIL to IDS it says something but what? Well I will tell you all now THEY DO NOT EVEN KNOW THEMSELFS!

every supermarket worker on my round says their job is awful, had 2 tesco staff join our office, heard being a food driverly driver is my best job to have in that sector
