Xmas Period Part Time to Full Time Contract

Does anybody know if we can opt out of working 37 hours during the Christmas period? We automatically get temporary full time contracts for this period whether or not required.

Not compulsory - I dropped back to part time a few years ago from a full time contract and have refused temporary full time every year since.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.
