Generally speaking your DOM "Could" give you a paid day off as "Special Leave", normally depends on how much he likes you.
Usual alternative is to re-arrange your Day Off. You could also take a day of as Leave (if you've got any left). Last resort is to take an un-paid day off.
And this is meant to be a Family Friendly Business concerned about it's Employees Mental Health.

Totally depends on your manager. My mum passed away in February I took 5 days bereavement leave as I was organising everything but they deducted a days pay for her funeral the following week that’s how compassionate RM is
