Contract increase question

Hello all , I joined Royal Mail around 6 months ago on a 25 hour contract I got told it would go up to 30 hours but this hasn’t been the case , never really raised the issue as I always did more than enough overtime to care. Fast foward to now and overtime has really dried up . My question is , who do I go to about an increase in contract ? We don’t have a dom just a line manager , is that something they could do or does it have to go through the union ?

If the overtime has dried up it would suggest that there isn't the level of work available that would justify an increase in your contract.
Any increase in contracted hours into the unit would be done according to seniority.

Has your office had a revision?
An increase in delivery spans would almost inevitably lead to an increase in part time contracts.

Thanks for the response , no revision as of yet .. possibly next year but could be to long to wait for myself if the contract increase was to happen then .. another question if overtime has dried up but the same people still get overtime can anything be done to share it equally or is it just a case of tough sh*t

Having a quiet word with a manager or union rep might help to even it out. Really depends on the type of people they are. Even letting them know you are available and keen especially since u were promised a 30 hr contract.

A good few years ago all the same people did the early morning overtime....prep, portering etc. Along came the spider who had a few "quiet words" and it started getting spread about.
