Annual leave entitlement whilst off sick
If someone is on long term sick which firstly exceeds 6 months and then a year, does your leave entitlement halve once off sick for 6 months and then cease all together when off for a year plus. Is there a policy with this explained?

No, your leave is 'banked' and you have to take it when you come back.
I have known people off for say a year, and they come back for a week then they go off again on leave.

Under the Working Time Regulations, you still accrue annual leave entitlement when off sick.
The legislation also accommodates long-term sick. It will entitle you up to carry over that leave for a maximum of 18 months before losing it.
Royal Mail's own contractual agreement might be over Statutory entitlement, but anybody off for more than a year will be looking at Ill Health Retirement
