Overtime priority RM employee over an agency worker
Am I correct in assuming that an RM employee should be given priority in the allocation of overtime over an agency worker in all circumstances?

As a rule I have always believed yes, we come 1st.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Overtime priority RM employee over an agency worker
Just my opinion and only opinion
They use agency workers as a resourcing tool when current workforce does not meet expected traffic volumes.
Overtime allocation shows a need for extra resources
As long as the agency worker is in the 13th week of employment (Angard) Under the Agency Workers Directive they have the same terms and conditions as a substantive employee.
Is that fair, No
Is it Legal, Yes
This applies if agency workers are already on site,
But such issues will need to be taken up with the office IR Rep and discussed at the weekly resurce meetings
But just my own opinion

Re: Overtime priority RM employee over an agency worker
The only situation where it's not is if an order is placed for agency workers and then an RM staff asks for OT
and
It's short notice e.g. we'd have to pay the agency worker as it was too short notice to cancel the agency worker.
and
No FTA or RM sick spots to fill
